Jatkoin verkkosivun kehitystä. Tällä kertaa tein visuaalisesti erityylisiä kuvia yrityksen verkkosivuja varten. En voi näyttää tekemiäni designeja täällä, koska ne ovat salaisia. Sen verran voin kuitenkin paljastaa, että tein yhden kuvan näyttämään 1920-1930 -luvun aikaiselta vintage -valokuvalta. Pidän itse tästä tyylistä todella paljon ja se näytti sopivan alkuperäisen kuvatiedoston teemaan, joten oli vain luonnollista valita se tyyli.
On olemassa monia eri tapoja tehdä kuvasta vintagen näköinen. Moiseen hommaan löytyy esimerkiksi ihan automatisoituja filttereitäkin jotka hoitaa sen homman täysin automaattisesti, mutta minä olen sellainen että tykkään tehdä asioita itse. Se on lisäksi ammattimaisempi tapa tehdä tää homma ja lopputulos on myös paremman näköinen kuin mitä automaattifilterillä voi tehdä.
Siksi tein tämän homman täysin manuaalisesti, from scratch. Vintage -ilme syntyy manuaalisesti tehtynä mustavalkoisen kuvan, erilaisten värifiltterien ja vääristymäefektien yhdistelmästä. Siinä sitten säädellään kaikkien näiden eri juttujen arvoja, kunnes ne on tasapainossa. Lopputuloksena syntyy täydellinen, vanhalta näyttävä mustavalkokuva.
I continued the web development task for the local company. This time I made some stylized, visually different images for the company's website. The designs I made are secret, so I can't show them here. But I can describe a bit of what I have done. I made one photograph look like a 1920's-1930's vintage photograph. I like this style a lot myself, and it seemed to fit in the theme of the original image file, so naturally I chose that style.
There are many ways to make a modern photograph to look like vintage. These days there are even fully automatized filters for that, and they basically make the hard work for you. But you know, I'm that kind of person who likes to create stuff myself and also experiment with different kinds of stuff. Doing it manually is also the more professional way of doing it and quit frankly, a manually created vintage style will look way better than an automatically generated one.
And that's why I made this the hard way, from scratch. To create a vintage look manually, I converted the original image file to black and white, and then mixed some color filters and distortion effects to it. Then it is just about adjusting the levels of each setting and effect to find a good balance between them. Once you achieve that balance, the image will turn into a perfect recreation of a 1920's-1930's vintage photograph.
